The Bethlen Home

Plans for construction of the new Bethlen Home continue to move ahead on schedule. Under the auspices of the Bethlen Home Board of Directors and the Strategic Planning Committee, meetings are being held to finalize the schematic design of the new building. Every bit of space that will make up the new structure is being analyzed for its use and efficiency. Every effort is being made to assure excellent care of our residents and good working conditions for our staff. We look forward to groundbreaking ceremonies one year from now. The new Bethlen Home’s character will reflect our love of God and our compassion for God’s children. The Home’s design will also reflect the Hungarian heritage, for which we are grateful, and the strong Reformed Christian faith by which we live. Any questions or suggestions concerning the design of the new Bethlen Home can be shared with the Department Heads at the Bethlen Home, the new administrator, Mr. Michael Walker, or with Rev. Imre Bertalan, new Executive Director (724-238-6711). We thank God for the progress being made. All glory and honor be to Him! Rev. Imre A. This gives the Activity Staff a chance to use their creativity and talents. The programs are designed to provide stimulation to all residents no matter what level of care. Throughout the week, a variety of regular activities are provided for our residents such as: bingo, exercise, bible study, church service, cooking class, crafts, social and trivia games to name a few. Besides the regular programs, special events and themes such as Senior Games, Winter Fest, 50’s week, etc. are also held throughout the year. Pet therapy is a very important part of our program. Throughout the spring and fall months, a local petting zoo visits the Home bringing a variety of animals from kittens, lambs to pot bellied pigs. As the warm months arrive, many residents and families take advantage of our beautiful patios. Residents and volunteers work hard 40
