Kálvin Egyházkerület - Calvin Synod - Keleti Egyházmegye - Eastern Classis

Although our church is small, the membership is aging, and although we are struggling - just like most of our sister churches in the Hungarian community - we are devoted to faithfully serving our Lord Jesus Christ. We understand the need to change and to be more open to others. We pray that our Lord will bless the efforts of our members as well as those of the minister and help us grow in numbers, but most of all in faith. Rev. (Photo by Irene Lambert) On March 8, 1998, we celebrated the 50 years of faithful and dedicated services of Mr. Joseph Lucskay as Choir Director of the South Norwalk Hungarian Reformed Church. Mr. Lucskay has been the Choir Director of our Church since 1948 and Organist since 1949. He was bom in Norwalk, and his parents - Mary Vitányi and Stephen Lucskay - were among the founding fathers of the Church in South Norwalk. Mr. Lucskay spent his whole life in the Church. He graduated from Norwalk High School and earned his B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of Bridgeport. He offered his manifold talents to the Church: first, as the pianist of the Sunday School, then as Sunday School teacher for 10 years. He was director of the Intermediate Choir, then the Senior Choir. Mr. Lucskay served on the Consistory and held many positions including those of Secretary, Treasurer and Comptroller. He has held the longest consecutive position of any member of the Church. 57
