Mr. Lucskay played the piano with the Kémény Orchestra and writes music as a hobby. He worked as an accountant/auditor for the Labor Department. He is retired, yet devotes all his time to his family and Church. To say thank you to him is simply not enough. We have enjoyed the music of perhaps one of the most talented musicians. His selfless devotion to the Church has given each of its members a true meaning of the Christian spirit. He counts his gift of music as a gift from God and has repaid it manifold. For his selfless devotion to the Church and its members, Mr. Lucskay was presented with a plaque and gift on March 8, 1998 by the congregation at a reception in his honor. The Rt. Rev. Louis Medgyesi challenged the congregation in his discourse to serve Christ for the continued building of the church of Jesus Christ. A rite of communion uplifted in words of remembrance the very significant contributions made by pastors and members throughout the ninetyfive years of the church’s life. The pioneer work of the charter members, fostered by the founding ministers Rev. Gabor Dokus and Rev. Zoltán Kuthy, and carried on by the generations that followed was underlined by the Rev Albert W. Kovács, pastor. While most of the service was in English, the founders’ native Magyar hymnal was observed in the singing of “Te Benned Bíztunk”, the reading of the holy scripture in Hungarian, and an eloquent Hungarian prayer led by the Rt. Rev. Francis Vitéz, Bishop Emeritus of Calvin Synod. Following the worship, a dinner was held in the Holiday Inn at Carteret, with 110 in attendance. A greeting was read by the Rev. Dr. Paul H. Sherry, President of the United Church of Christ, followed by remarks from numerous Hungarian Reformed ministers. Greetings were tendered 58
