On January 18,1997, we were able to hold a highly successful classis meeting. It was probably the coldest day of the year, but we had twenty participants. The churches of Beaver Falls, Homestead, Johnstown, Pitts­burgh and Springdale were represented. The representatives of Ligonier and Vintondale were excused. The classis meeting was held in the Pitts­burgh church. The meeting elected new officers: Dean: The Rev. Dr. Aladar Komjáthy Classis Lay Elder: Nicholas Kovács of Johnstown Secretary: Mrs. Arlene Csornán of Beaver Falls Treasurer: Wilburn A. Roby, Jr. The Church of Beaver Falls is faithfully served by theological stu­dents and professors of Geneva College. Great event of the year is the annual Christmas Ecumenical Service with Roman Catholic and Ortho­dox participation. Pastor Robert W. Kennedy reported the joyful news of the Home­stead church, that the average church attendance increased. Sometimes it exceeds 60. On February 8, 1997 the leadership of the church met the 72
