WOODBRIDGE, NJ Pastor. Rev. Albert W. Kovács Chief Elder: John Kelemen Hungarian Reformed Church Woodbridge, New Jersey The church has 156 members on its active roll, and elects 20 Elders. The sacrament of the Lord’s Supper is served upon seven celebrations during the church year, although there was but one child baptized and two confirmed. The Church School has 17 children with three teachers. The present Confirmation Class, a two year program, has six youths preparing for church membership. The Consistory tackled many necessary repairs and improvements, installing new roofs on the church tower, social rooms and school hall­way. New carpets were donated and installed in the school hallways and church entry. Numerous other projects included renovation of the parson­age bathroom and rewiring the home, installation of electricity in the ga­rage with a new automatic opener, repairs to the church hall air condition­ers and the replacement of several termite damaged door jambs in the church. These totaled over $21,000 of the church’s $58,000 budget. Every Thursday evening over 100 attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings in the church hall, and still another 35 on Saturday evenings for Narcotics Anonymous, plus a family support group. The pastor is Chair­man of the Church and Ministry Committee of Calvin Synod and the Dean of its Eastern Classis. He also serves on the Executive Committee of the Bethlen Home Board of Directors.
