Nagy problémát jelent egyházunk számára a vidékünk gazdasági pangása. Mivel az USA tengeralattjáróit és repülőgép motorjait államunkban készítik, a lecsökkentett katonai feszültség következményeként növekedett a munkanélküliség. Hiába „tört ki” a világbéke, a hadiipart nem lehet könnyen békés termelésre átállítani. Gyülekezetünk hűséges támogatóira így nagyobb teher nehezedik. A lelkész résztvett a Második Magyar Református Világtalálkozón, amikor Püspökladányban hirdette az Igét, majd Erdélyben: Kolozsvárott és Marosvásárhelyen szolgált; végül Kárpátalján: Kajdanóban és Beregszászon. Csak a Krisztus-hit az, ami megóv bennünket a félelemtől, és biztat arra, hogy általa van jövőnk és ezért szolgálni kötelességünk! WOODBRIDGE, NJ Pastor: Rev. Albert W. Kovács The church installed the Rev. Albert W. Kovács as its new Minister, a “son” of the congregation who was confirmed there in 1942 by his predecessor, the Rev. Leslie Egry. His familiarity with the area where he was raised and with many members and neighbors has made the transition easier to a new pastorate, although following one of many years. The legacy of many faithful church Members and Pastor Egry, its new buildings and a love for the church, was the foundation of the church’s program last year. To effect energy economy, the church hall ceiling was lowered and converted to gas heat, from electric. $20,000.00 of the cost was loaned from the Hungarian Federation of America. An additional $10,000.00 was spent to complete the work and to do other work on the roofs and foundations. The Sunday School program was reviewed, leading to increased attendance.
