1982 231 Our brother in Christ: Andrew Kurimai was born on October 19, 1912 in Nowalk, Connecticut. He married Irene Lucskay. They have three married children: Mark, Mrs. George Klein and Mrs. Glen Lambert. He died on March 9, 1981 at Stamford Hospital, Stamford, CT. He was given God’s eternal grace to discover early in his life the reality and superiority of God’s eternal kingdom. He was an elder, several times a delegate of our Church to Calvin Synod as a member of our Consistory, past secretary, treasurer and president of our Consistory, also a past Superintendent of our Church Sunday School and sang in the Choir. He was District Manager of the local chapter of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America, past member of the Board of Directors of the H.R.F.A., member of the Governing Board of the Bethlen Home, delegate of our Calvin Synod to the General Synod of the United Church of Christ. He was a member of many more organziations. Rev. Zoltán Szabó So. Norwalk, CT. DR. VARGA IMRE PÜSPÖK 1905 — 1980 1981. december 10-én egy éve, hogy Ft. Dr. Varga Imre, a szlovákiai Református Keresztyén Egyház kiváló püspökének megfáradt szíve megszűnt dobogni. Már a komáromi zsinaton észrevették munkatársai, hogy nagyon fáradt, s pihenést javasolták neki. Varga Imre robusztus egyéniség volt, s nem hitte eh hogy a szíve kimerülőben van. Betegen ment el egy téli hosszú vasúti úton Brünbe, ahonnan halálosan betegen érkezett haza kassai otthonába. A szív nem bírta tovább a terhelést, s Isten 75 éves szolgáját felesége virrasztása mellett csendesen elaltatta. Temetése 1980 december 14-én volt a kassai templomból, hol Horváth Zsigmond püspök helyettes hirdette magyarul az Igét, szlovákul Vaszily János egyetemes titkár prédikált. Temetésén szólották még Dr. Csáji Bertalan kerületi főgondnok, Dr. Michalkó szlovák evangélikus egyetemes püspök, Kürti László tiszáninneni püspök, több csehszlovákiai vezető egyéniség. A hernádzsadányi temetőben Varga Béla kassai esperes hirdette az Igét és Varga Gyula rimaszombati esperes lelkész búcsúzott gyülekezete nevében, amelynek 1931 óta haláláig hűséges lelkipásztora volt. Temetésére autóbuszok, autók vitték a felvidéki magyarságot, hogy ANDREW KURIMAI 1912 — 1981
