To Our New Generations
204 BETHLEN NAPTÁR them in their rehabilitation, the Federation established a Veterans’ Office in Chicago. SUPPORT TO THE SUFFERING AND NEEDY. It is in the field of brotherly service in behalf of our needy Hungarian brethren scattered throughout the four corners of the earth that the Federation has done and is doing the most. Through our Bethlen Home we have cared for three hundred orphans for a period of two years. By sending money and especially material gifts like clothing, shoes, sheets, bandages and cotton, the Federation was able to save the lives of hundreds of children. To our poor and suffering brethren, both in the old country and in enforced exile, we have been continuously sending life-saving and lifesustaining material gifts, the value — if we are to put a price on them — of which exceeds many thousands of dollars annually. In July 1956 this sacred heritage of our new generations completed its 60th. year of unceasing labor of love and altruism. It is worth taking a backward glance into the financial progress of this great fraternal and seeing what it has done through the years, above and beyond fulfilling its benefit and life insurance commitments.
