BETHLEN NAPTÁR 205 Every Member Canvass, which will take care of the church budget, has been initiated and is functioning successfully. This fine congregation owns a beautiful church, recreation building and parsonage. The pastor, the Rev. Francis Nagy, has been a member of the Board of Managers of the Bethlen Home for the last four years. CRESCENT-MARTINS FERRY, O. The Rev. Dr. Arthur Varady has been pastor of these congregations for many years. One of the outstanding annual events for the past 46 years has been the conducting of evangelistic services during the Christmas season for the spiritual uplifting of both congregations. Neighboring pastors participate. This shows fine spiritual leadership and good Christian church life. CLEVELAND, OHIO. This is the third Hungarian Congregation of our faith in Cleveland, served by the Rev. Stephen Csutoros, son of one of the pioneer Hungarian Ministers of America, the late Dr. Elek Csutoros. Sunday School, youth work and the choirs are outstanding in this congregation. NILES, OHIO. This church celebrated its silver jubilee last year. Their pastor, the Rev. Nicholas Varkonyi, resigned from this pastorate and the congregation is now being supplied by a displaced person, the Rev. Géza Kur. WARREN, OHIO is a growing congregation, which, since it has paid its debts on both church and parsonage, has laid emphasis on the strengthening of its spiritual life, under the capable and fine Christian leadership of the Rev. László Harangi, pastor. Recently, the congregation instituted the conducting of worship services in the homes of those who live on distant farms. YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO (First Church) is now preparing to celebrate its golden jubilee in 1952. Under the guidance of the Rev. John Bőtty, pastor, the congregation bought and remodeled a large public school building in which all church activities, including recreation programs, Sunday School and youth work are conducted. The church has also been remodeled. Emphasis has been placed on adult Sunday School attendance, which has reached an enrollment of 80. BEAVER FALLS, PA., one of the small, but old congregations, which celebrated its fortieth anniversary last year. The Rev. Nicholas Varkonyi is the new minister in charge. He is the President of the Hungarian Presbyterian Ministers’ Conference. The congregation erected a reacreation building in 1946 under its former minister, the Rev. Julius Kish.
