With the publication of this work we are promoting an even internationally unique undertaking. The totality of the presentations opened up by this picture catalogue puts together from a hundred thousand mosaics the ever variyng, developing image of Budapest, the life of the town and its inhabitants in the variyng time and in our days, suppliyng information by the objective, unequivocal power of the pictorial illustration to those interested, inviting us to learn more completely about the centuries of the town. We release the picture catalogue entitled "The History of Budapest in Pictures" in the conviction that it will become a handbook of basic importance for the scientists of the historical research of the country and all the interested persons alike.
