limited edition. In our belief, it also had a motivating impact, since in 1999 the numismatic bibliography of Bács-Kiskun county was published in the edition of Károly Leányfalusi. During the editorial work we considered the remarks and criticisms on the previous volume, but only adapted those that we agreed with. Therefore, we tried to avoid the double registration of items, even in the case of publications that could have been included in several chapters. However, we did not consider the syllabus of the mentioned bibliography as a model necessarily to be followed. Therefore, the structural division of the volume remained unchanged, since the local characteristics - the high number of literature on medals and coins from the era of Turkish expansion, or the history of money during the Serb occupation, as well as medical medals - offered the opportunity for the establishment of separate chapters. We are convinced that these facilitate for researchers and collectors an easier use of the volume. Since we arranged the main topics of the material according to the described points we have not broken down the chapters to subchapters. As we believe, despite its rather irregular structure, our volume will be appropriate to be utilised for the future continuation of the national bibliography without any difficulties, since in the age of computer technology the items are easy to arrange along any type of logic. In our work - similarly to the first edition - we avoided the mass of abbreviations, in order to spare the number of retrievals causing quite a lot of annoyance for the reader. As regards articles and studies published in the press, we only indicated the page numbers if that was certainly identifiable. Unfortunately it often happens in the case of unnumbered pages that some pages are missing from the exemplars bound in annuals and therefore the subsequent numbering becomes uncertain and misleads the user. As regards the division of the bibliography, we included in the first group the money-historical, in the second group the medal-historical and in the last one the remaining topics. The region of Baranya county only had an independent medal-historical significance twice in its history. For the first time when the Anjou King, Charles Robert established the Pécs-Szerém minting chamber and through that inaugurated the town of Pécs as a Hungarian royal mint. Unfortunately only a few data are known from this period and their elaboration has not yet been com-
