Veronika SZILÁGYI: Rebirth of the Gundel Centrepiece: Methodological Experiments in the Restoration of Enamelled Metalwork

23 Dr Zoltán May, of the Institute of Materials and Environmental Chemistry at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, carried out the measurements and their evaluation. 24 The X-ray diffraction examination of texture and residual stress was performed by Dr Márton Benke in the Complex Laboratory of Image and Structure Analysis (LISA) at the Institute of Physical Metallurgy, Metalforming and Nanotechnology at the University of Miskolc. 25 Metallographie analysis was carried out by Dr Péter Barkóczy in the LISA laboratory at the University of Miskolc. The general and local composition analysis of pre-prepared samples was conducted by Árpád Kovács in the LISA laboratory of Scanning Electron Microscopy at the University of Miskolc using an AMRAY 18301 scanning electron microscope fitted with an energy dispersive X-ray microprobe (SEM-EDX). 26 300 g citric acid, 120 g thiocarbamide and 5 ml surfactant (Solovet) dissolved in 1 1 distilled water. 27 The preservative was applied with a brush, and was composed of 20 g Mowilith 50, 20 g Paraloid B72, 0.17 1 toluene and 0.17 1 xylene, filled up with acetone to a total volume of one litre. 28 The frame was designed and made by Gyula Varga, woodwork maintenance specialist at the Museum of Applied Arts. 125
