tention to the Guest of Honour country this year: Spain. To complement the travelling exhibition, the Museum of Applied Arts also hosted the opening exhibition of the Design Week, titled Home, Sweet Home. The objects on view were selected by the curator of Budapest Design Week, Judit Os- várt. The third exhibition was the recurring display of prizewinning designers in the framework of the Hungarian Design Awards exhibition. The exhibitions were supplemented by a series of talks and other events. Lifting the Curtain - Central European Architectural Networks 31 October - 6 December 2015 Lifting the Curtain, an exhibition presenting the birth of modern architecture in Central Europe, was originally realised as a collateral event of La Biennale di Venezia - 14th International Architectural Exhibition with the collaboration of five countries. The contribution of Central Europe to the formation and dissemination of modernity is largely unknown or seen as a marginal episode in post-war historiographies of global modern architecture, due in part to its long-term isolation from Western discourse. This situation also reinforced the currently dominant national narratives of modernism in post-socialist countries. The project explored key transitions that formed modernity in Central Europe from a different perspective. Its intention was to highlight cross border and cross disciplinary transfers, which reveal a different understanding of the networks of modern architecture. Displays Works Created - The annual exhibition of designers supported by the National Cultural Fund 25 January - 24 March 2013 As part of a series going back to 2006, the Museum of Applied Arts again organised an exhibition featuring the work of designers who received funding for their projects from the National Cultural Fund. The exhibition was accompanied by a small catalogue. The 2013 exhibition proved to be the last in the series, due to a reorganization of the committees of the National Cultural Fund. The László Moholy-Nagy and the Lajos Kozma Scholarship Exhibition 2012, 2013, and 2014 25 January - 10 March 2013; 21 February - 6 April 2014; 13 March - 10 May 2015 Following a long tradition, the László Moholy-Nagy designer and the Lajos Kozma applied arts scholarship exhibition had been held in all three years again at the Museum of Applied Arts. Organized by the Hungarian Institute for Culture and Art (MANK) and the Hungarian Design Council, the exhibitions displayed designs, photographs of the works in progress and the works themselves, providing a showcase for the youngest talents in the field. Innovative and creative works by young Hungarian designers were featured in all three exhibitions. 153
