that followed in its footsteps set about informing public taste. The title of the exhibition was taken from the lecture of József Keszler held at the Museum of Applied Arts in 1907. The idea behind the competition curated by Ágnes Prékopa was to bring people’s attention to some examples of “bad” design. Apart from the submitted objects, references were also made to another exhibition held with a similar intention and agenda by Gustav Edmund Pazau- rek in Stuttgart in 1909 entitled A Collection of Aberrations in Taste (Sammlung der Geschmacksverirrungen ). Lechner, the Church Builder 14th—23rd September 2012 The exhibition, which formed part of the 2012 Ars Sacra Festival, looked at the two churches Ödön Lechner designed, St. Ladislas’s church in Kőbánya (Budapest) and St. Elizabeth’s church in Pozsony (Bratislava, Slovakia), with the aid of the building plans and architectural ceramics. The curator of the exhibition was Máté Mil- lisits. Zsolnay Eosin Glazes 9th October - 11th November 2012 The main piece of the display, which formed part of the Autumn Festival of Museums, was the sample piece of the Zsolnay factory laboratory, which consists of examples of colourful glazes made according to the recipes of the ‘eosin’ glaze technique that had made the factory world famous. This centrepiece was surrounded by artefacts made using the same eosin glazes. Events During the course of 2011-2012 the Museum of Applied Arts was able to put on a rich and varied programme of events for its visitors. Apart from the regular guided tours in the exhibitions, there were academic lectures and educational programmes. There have also been book presentations and concerts at the museum.
