Various parts of it had become misshapen to differing degrees (fig. III/2). The surface of the crumpled velvet fabrics was threadbare along the fracture lines. The frayed edges of the bagazia reinforcing the velvet were incomplete. Threads holding down the skófium and those forming the contours were broken and in many places had worn off. In some places the corroded metal yarn had drifted and become crumpled. Where the wire was missing the clusters of thread padding out the embroidery had broken surface. Having lost their original colour and having become stained in places, the leather parts had become hard and stiff. Their surfaces were in places marked by traces of gnawing by insects. On the upper aperture of the case, the protrusions narrowing either into spheres or into points were broken or missing. 100
