8. THE PORTAL OF THE HUNGARIAN EXHIBITION HALL AT VENICE BIENNALE (1909, RECONSTRUCTED 1958) invariably also in our days, the International Architect Congress hold a sitting in 1963. Maróti put as fire-proof courtain a thick-walled glass courtain into practice, what shows transilluminated the contours of the Mexican volcanos. The glass courtain has been carried out by the U. S.A. firm Tiffany in accordance with Maróti's design (Fig. 7). It has become common knowledge that not only the carrying out but the designing had been made by Tiffany's. too' J . On the other hand the complete design, bearing Maróti's signature is to be find in the Budapest Polytechnical University. This must be a convincing evidence which all goes to show that Maróti was the designer and Tiffany the executor. The magic effect of the glass courtain stems from the multicoloured transillumination in the glass cubes. The 27 tons weighing glass courtain is setting free the stage by its hydraulic pression in 7 seconds. 135 7. PLAN FOR THE (JLASS COURTAIN, MEXICO CITY (1912)
