Certain differences were found between the two sexes, which manifest themselves in the mean values of the absolute measurements exposed above. The male brain skulls are high, concerning the mean values of the absolute measurements, those of the females are moderately high. The male faces are low, the female ones moderately high. Also the stature fails to show a uniform picture, since the males are tall average and the females average. The differentiation between the two sexes can be observed in the morphos copie features, as in the degree of expression of the glabella, the arcus superciliaris, the protuberantia occipitalis externa, the processus mastoideus, the alveolar prognathism and thus the phenomena of massivenesskrgracility can be well followed. ANATOMICAL VARIATIONS, ABNORMALITIES As for the morphos copie characteristics, I consider necessary to evaluate summarily the anatomical variations occurring in the Avar material at Fészerlakpuszta. During my examinations I studied the anatomical variation frequencies of the os bregmaticum, the os epiptericum, the os incae, the ossa wormiana and the sutura metopica. On the infant skulls, suitable for examination and belonging to age group Inf . I. , anatomical variations were experienced in 5 cases: in one case os incae proprium 3 %), in four cases ossa wormiana (25,0 %). In the group of Inf. II. ijnly ossa wormiana could be observed (60, 0 %). On male skulls, the frequency of the os bregmaticum was found the lowest (one case: 9, 1 %); the phenomena of os epiptericum and the sutura metopica occured in two cases (18,2 %-18, 2 %, resp. ). Relatively the most G 3
