1996. szeptember AMERIKAI MAGYAR ÚJSÁG 15 MRS. CLINTON IN BUDAPEST FIRST LADY HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON ARRIVAL STATEMENT IN BUDAPEST HUNGARY, JULY 6,1996 I am delighted to be able to spend this weekend in Budapest and to bring to the Hungarian people a message of admiration and encouragement from America. We admire your leadership in bringing democratic and economic reforms to Central Europe and in laying the foundation of civil society in Hungary. This country is well on its way to regaining its rightful place in the Western family of democratic nations. While I am here I will have the opportunity to meet with government leaders, representatives of non-governmental organizations, women from all areas of Hungarian life, and citizens working to build a strong democracy in Hungary. I look forward to learning more about the progress that has been made here, as well as the obstacles that still remain. I thank the government and people of Hungary for extending a warm welcome to me in the beautiful city of Budapest.
