8 REFORMÁTUSOK LAPJA lost to the Hungarian nation.” (This information may also be found in “Transsylvania” quarterly of the American Transylvanian Federation, New York, December 31, 1971.) Among the listed villages is Bogárfalva which lies far from this section, but Bögöz and Ocfalva are also endangered. In these villages there are large Hungarian Beformed congregations. Information about these congregations may be found in the book by István J. Kováts entitled “Magyar református templomok, I-II, Hungarian Reformed Churches, I-II” Athenaeum Press, Budapest, 1942. “Agyagfalva (Udvarhely Co.) Congregation consisting of 1,127 souls, Church seating capacity 500 — originally a Roman Catholic church, built in the XIII century. Renovated into the present form in the XV century.” (p. 704) “Bikafalva (Udvarhely Co.) Congregation of 446 souls, Church seating capacity 250, built around 1720.” (pp. 704-705) “Kis galamb falva (Udvarhely Co.) Congregation of 684 souls, seating capacity 450, re-built in 1798 on the original foundations of the church destroyed by fire in 1790.” (p. 706) “Nagy galamb falva (Udvarhely Co.) Congregation with 1,352 souls, seating capacity 374, originally a Roman Catholic church built at an unknown date. Rebuilt into the present form in 1685.” (pp. 707-708) “Magyaró (Udvarhely Co.) Congregation with 2,340 souls, seating capacity of 429, probably originally a Roman Catholic church built in the XVI century. Rebuilt and enlarged in XVIII century.” (p. 656) “Bögöz (Udvarhely Co.) Congregation with 1,259 souls, seating capacity of church 400, originally a Roman Catholic church built in the XII century.” (p.704) Décsfalva (Udvarhely Co.) Congregation joined with Agyagfalva. In the above mentioned villages there are probably Hungarian Roman Catholic and Unitarian congregations also but unfortunately there are no statistics available. The Hungarian Reformed church members in 1941 in the listed villages numbered about 7,500. If we add to this the natural population growth to the present time the number would surpass 10,000. Hungarians Here and All Over the World — Act Now! We call upon our churches, organizations, leaders and professionals, and all concerned, protest against the willful deportation and dispersement of our Hungarian brethren and congregations!
