8 AMERIKAI MAGYAR REFORMÁTUSOK LAPJA up this Union. We can only through strenthening our own church societies strenghten the Union. How can we do this? We must first find out what the interests of the group are and then appeal to their interest. At first we may find it necessary to provide the type of program that the group desire even though it is not what we like. The church may have to do this in connection with some “community house” if the facilities of the church are not suitable for such things as basket-ball, etc. Through this indirect process the church may get the Young People interested in other activities, which are more valuable than basket-ball, such as mental activity. Another important factor in strengthening the Union as well as the church society is that the Young People understand the aims and goals of the Union and also the church society. There must also be team work among the people who direct and plan the activities of the Union and the church society. If some misunderstanding arises it should be dealt with promptly since this makes for greater misunderstanding among the group. This should be given close attention in the individual societies, since misunderstandings are more frequent among our church societies than in the Union. We must remember that atmosphere is an important factor in our environment. It is therefore important that the atmosphere of the conference or Union be such that it will induce the Young People to confide and co-operate with the Union to their utmost ability. The Young People Societies of the Union must recognize the importance and necessity of regular, timely and thorough consultation on the part of the leaders, whether this be in local or in state areas. The Union is trying to do this by asking the societies of neighboring districts to have District Conferences. The Young People at these conferences must learn to become a group that has come together to try to love, understand and to co-operate with one another. We must learn to think clearly and unselfishly. If we try to think clearly and unselfishly, we will able to see the opinions of other people on certain subjects and it will be easier to solve our problems. Another important thing is friendly relationships. There must be a time when the problems and joys of the societies can be shared. We can do this by having “District Conferences” and socials together. For instance, after a certain Young People Society has finished studying a certain peoples they may have a social at which they will have a general review of what they studied and they will invite the other societies in the district to their social. At the “District Conferences” the various groups can tell about the work of their societies, thus telling about their problems and accomplishments. As a final step I believe that the societies should do Pioneer work on behalf of the other churches in the neighboring sommunities or in their own church by organizing a “Junior Young People’s Society.” Before I conclude this paper I would like to impress upon you several things. First, “God has dignified man in permitting him to help work out his own salvation.” All kinds of plants will grow in a garden but we all know that continuous care will help. So it is also with human beings. Thus the art of conferring grows with practice and with time. Very often we see no immediate outcomes of a conference. But is not the fact that many young people have come in contact with one another important ? They have found out that they are all very much like one another. Let us remember that too often we try to measure success in what men rate as being successful. Ligonier, Pa. Husvét ünnepién nagyon tartalmas alkalmi előadást rendeztek Árvaházunk neveltjei. A rendkívül gazdag programból kiemeljük a következőket: Husvét szimbólumokban, párbeszéd. Boldog husvét, jelenet. Húsvéti élőkép. Az örök élet felé, húsvéti színdarab. A programot az Árvaház sokszorosítani fogja s a jövő évre előállítási áron bocsátja az egyházak rendelkezésére.
