8 AMERIKAI MAGYAR REFORMÁTUSOK LAPJA ni szándékozó ifjúságnak. Minden tagnak be kell fizetni a C. C. Club megalakításától a konvencióig 5 dollárt. Ami pénz az összejöveteleiken bejön, azon a tagok egyformán osztozkodnak. Osz- szesen 44 dollár van a pénztárunkban. Reméljük, hogy a közel jövőben sokkal több lesz. Ajánljuk, hogy minden gyülekezet ifjúsága tegyen valamit, hogy megszerezhessék a konvencióhoz szükséges költségeket, hogy midéi többen együtt lehessünk Chicagóban. Lorain, O., 1933. március 12. Csutorás Margitka a C. C. Club elnöke. 0=33QB[=]BÖ[2=O I WILL SEEK TO BRING OTHERS TO CHRIST! Many of us, who have brothers and sisters between the ages of twelve and fourteen, and the others of us, who work at the church and attend services regularly, have noticed that these boys and girls gather together weekly to study and learn the contents of a little book known as the “Katekizmus.” At such classes these adolescent boys and girls come face to face with Christ. They learn to know Him as Master. They learn to love Him. They find that they want to follow Him. Watching them, memories flood our minds. We are back to the time when we, willingly or by the will of our parents, met Christ and made a Covenant with Him and with His Churdh. This had not been the first time we met our Saviour, nor had it been the first time our lives were laid into His hands, but it marked the first time that we ourselves, with our own lips, answered Christ’s command “Follow me!” Confirmation — your Covenant and my Covenant with Chrst. Years have elapsed since that time. Many changes occurred in our lives. With Saint Paul we can say “When I was a child I spake as a Child — but when I became a man, I put away childish things”—. The challenging spirit of our youth took a grip on our lives, and we found that our first Covenant with Christ was not sufficient unto us. We wanted to do something more for our Master. We wanted to do something more for our church. Youth, so full of spiritual fire, found what he was looking for in a Child of the Church — Christian Endeavor. Here, our Second or New Covenant was made with Christ. Jesus, as always, was ready to receive us. We again laid our lives into His hand, but took a step forward, “I will seek to bring others to Christ.” Youth, so full of vitality and energy, so full of love for all peoples of the earth, wanted to bring his fellowmen to Christ. Youth was ready to Crusade. We have taken the pledge, but have we really lived up to the contents of it? Looking about us during services in our churches, or When we are doing other work for Christ, how many of our friends, who were confirmed with us, are in the church, or are doing •work under the banner of Jesus? Now, when there are other boys and girls ready to take this great step in their lives, why can’t we take steps in bringing our own Confirmation Groups together on the same day and renew our Covenant with Christ? At our Church in Toledo, it has become a custom on Palm Sunday to hold a Reunion of the Confirmation Classes of previous years. The new group is confirmed at services in the morning, while the older groups renew their promise at services in the late afternoon. After the service a Fellowship Banquet is held for all young people. What a wonderful opportunity to fulfill the C. E. Pledge, and to bring back to the church all the young people Who have left the straight and narrow path and have traveled along other roads of life. As C. E. members we see and know Satans ways. Useing this rose-colored glasses Satan very often lures away from our church our pleasure-loving, pleasure-seeking young people. We are not afraid of Satan for our Master is with us. It was to Him we pledged “I will seek to bring others to Christ.” We are glad to go out and fulfill the pledges and bring back to the churdh those Who had been lured away. When we, in Toledo, will be renewing our pledge to Christ on Palm Sunday, we would like to feel that in all of our Magyar Protestant Churches of America, young people at the same hour will be in their own churches, renewing their pledge. We may not meet in body and strew palms and flowers in the path of our King —• but our spirits may unite before Plis throne in praise and worship for His goodness in allowing us to become partners with Him in our New Covenant. Only life can matdh life, and only youth can speak to youth, therefore, youth of C. E., you Who love your Church and love your fellowmen, show this love by fulfilling the most difficult sentence of your pledge — “I WILL SEEK TO BRING OTHERS TO CHRIST!” Elizabeth Komáromy.
