Amerikai Magyar Reformátusok Lapja, 1931 (32. évfolyam, 33-48. szám)

1931-11-14 / 46. szám

8 AMERIKAI MAGYAR REFORMÁTUSOK LAPJA radiant with happiness! Yes, for in her arms she is solding the fruit of the field. Wheat!! It is harvest!! Her whole being radiates thankfulness to her God for all that He has given her. Ruth, with her dark eyes shining, thankful because there was a summer, and thankful because there is an autumn when she can gather in the fruit of her labors. Another picture comes to me then, another field. Why we, too, can gather in our fruit! God has given us so much. He has blessed us a hundredfold. Looking closely down this new field, I see coming toward me many Magyar Reformed Youths, and in each one’s arms there are sheaves of wheat — fruit. Around each sheaf is tied a banner with the words, “For Christ and for His Church.” What beautiful work is represented by each sheaf! Young People of the C. E. of Los Angeles, you who are so far away from us all, w'e want to congratulate you for the great work that you have started. May your slogan, “Légy gyümölcsöző minden jó munkában és növekedj az Isten ismeretében”, carry you on and be a blessing to your group. The regional conference held in East Chicago, where so many young people took part in the services, must have been a great blessing to all who attended. Mr. Peter Kovács, Field Secretary of the K. I. E. of Hungary, gave the young people a very inspirational talk. There have been other regional conferences. In McKeesport, 110 young people attended the conference, held there for the benefit of young people of Pittsburgh, Homestead, Johnstown, Windber, Leechburg, Donora and Duquesne. At the conference in Buffalo, the young people of Tonawanda and Lackawanna also took part. Mr. Peter Kovács also attended these conferences and I am sure the young people will never forget all that he has given them through his wonderful speeches! As I view all this beautiful work, I feel someone pulling the hem of my skirt and as I look down a little child is holding a sheaf toward me. Phoenixville C. E. ■— just organized and already 21 young people are carrying the banner, “Trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ for strength.” We are praying for you, Phoenixville Young People! South Norwalk C. E., you have been in the field working for years and years. We have often viewed the fruits of your work and now again we are glad to hear that you want to have charge of church services for the benefit of all your young people. It is a great undertaking and we feel that God will bless your work if through it all you will not forget that you are Magyar Reformed Young People. We must not forget the work of the other Magyar Reformed C. E.’s, either. Among those societies who have been working for ifiany years are Toledo and Dayton. They, too, are gathering their fruits. Detroit, Youngstown, Bridgeport, Lorain, Chicago; w|e see you all in the background working hard to do your share of the great work. Flint, you, too, have organized two new clubs — Magyar Fiuk és Magyar Lányok — can’t you join us and organize a C. E. Society ? There are many C. E.’s that I have not mentioned, for I have not been able to get a glimpse of their work. I am thankful for the picture I have seen! I feel that Ruth was not the only one who radiated happiness. Jesus, too, is radiating joy! We are thankful, so very, very thankful to God for all His blessings. Although, we have gathered in our sheaves, we have not finished our work. Again we will sow and when spring comes, may it be our privilege to bring in the sheaves of new wheat. Christ said, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father, which is in heaven.” Autumn — winter — days dark and dreary, but our sheaves are - gathered in, and we know that He is with us. That is all that matters ; Christ our Guide, our work for Him, and as we go along with Him, even though the way may seem dark, we will not forget His command — our lights will shine before men for HIS SAKE! Elizabeth Komáromy. Duquesne, Pa. A legelső látogatást most vasárnap a rendes istenitisztelet alkalmával fogják megtenni.
