One peculiarity, the lack of count, was attempted to be eliminated twice at the end of the medieval period: both attempts in 1445-1446 and in the 1480s were unsuccessful. Noblemen living in these counties regarded this custom as their ancient liberty. The administration of the region, however, was unified at the end of the middle ages: the Island of Csepel was integrated under the administration of Pest or Pest and Fejér counties, and the seat and day of Pest county court were fixed. Other peculiarities of the region survived as long as the Ottoman conquest (1541).

The reason behind the peculiarities must have been the fact that Csepel Island had been lain in the vicinity of the princely centre, and later the capital of the country also developed here.
