TESTVÉRISÉG 7 rn HEV CEHERATIOh M 3* UJ MtnZtDCK «£ 0 IMPORTANT RESOLUTIONS OF THE SUPREME COUNCIL Excerpts from the Minutes of the special meeting of the Supreme Council, held in Ligo- nier, Pa., Sept. 9, 1948: a) Hospitalization. Resolved, that the hospitalization plan presented by the Secretary is approved by the Council The plan will be offered to men, women and children, who are members of the Federation. Details be worked out by officers and actuary. b) Sick Benefit membership. Resolved, that those members who have matured 20 Payment Life certificates, may remain members of the Sick Benefit Department, if they pay 25 cents monthly for handling expenses. After such dues no deduction will be given to the branch secretaries. c) Accident insurance. Resolved, that those members who have matured 20 Payment Life certificates, may retain their accident insurance, if they pay a yearly 50 cents for handling expenses. This handling fee is to be paid, together with the yearly accident dues, in advance in one sum at the beginning of the year. d) Matured endowments. Resolved, that those members who have matured 20 Years Endowment Certificates, may remain members in the Sick Benefit Department in case they leave at least $1000.00 of the matured amount in custody of the Federation as paid up certificates. These members will pay 25 cents extra handling fee monthly besides their regular Sick Benefit dues. Similarly they retain their accident insurance, if they pay their accident dues yearly in advance, together with 50 cents handling fee in one sum. e) Dividend for juveniles. Resolved, that for the year 1949 a dividend is granted for the members of the Juvenile Department, holding 20 or 25 cents certificates. The dividend is two months dues, under the condition, that the remaining $2.00 or $2.50 membership dues are paid in advance at the beginning of the year, in one sum. f) Higher dues. Resolved, that from Jan. 1, 1949 dues will be raised for the new members adopted after this date. g) The Year of Martyrs. Resolved, that the year of 1949 will be called “The Year of Martyrs” in memory of the heroic dead in the war for Hungarian independence in 1848. h) Public bid. Resolved, that from Jan. 1, 1949 the printing of the official monthly of the Federation will be given to a printing firm which gives the lowest figure through public bid. Bid to be advertised in our own monthly and the two Hungarian dailies. i) Matured certificates. Resolved, that members, who besides their matured 20 PL or 20 Years Endowment certificates own an other valid certificates also, in case of keeping this latter certificate, they might remain members of the Sick Benefit Department. Secretary. EGY KIS KÜLÖNBSÉG Egy amerikai munkásdelegáció átrándult Európába, ahol meglátogatták a világhirü Skoda gyárat. A delegáció vezetője megkérdezte, hogy most ki a gyár tulajdonosa? — A Nép, — válaszolt a helybeli vezető. — És kié ez a sok gép? — kérdezősködtek tovább az amerikaiak. — A Népé, — szólt ismét a válasz. — És ki kapja a hasznot? — A Nép. Mikor a gyár udvarára értek, három automobilt láttak, mire megkérdezték az amerikaiak, hogy kié ez a három kocsi? — Az egyik a nemzeti védelem igazgatójának a kocsija, a másik a munkásvezéré és a harmadik az orosz érdekek képviselőjének a kocsija. Az amerikaiak fejcsóválva hallgatták a választ. Hetekkel azután a Skoda-gyár küldte ki delegátusát Amerikába, ahol többek között meglátogatta a Ford- gyárat. Az amerikai munkásvezér vezette körül a delegátust, aki megkérdezte, hogy ki a gyár tulajdonosa? — Mr. Ford, — volt a válasz. — És kié ez a sok gépezet? — A Mr. Fordé. — És kié a haszon? — Az is a Mr. Fordé. Mikor elhagyták a gyárat, a közeli hatalmas parkolóhelyen vagy 30,000 automobil állott. A Skoda embere megkérdezte: — És kié ez a sok kocsi? — A Népé! — válaszolt az amerikai. Erre meg a Skoda munkása meresztette ki a szemeit!
