Soós, Á.: New data to the ecology and distribution in the Carpathian Basin of Trocheta Bykowskii Gedr. (Hirudinea)
not wish now to join in the discussion of this problem. After a discussion of the external morphological characters, Per ret enumerates several new collecting localities of T. Bykoivskii Gedr., in the canton Neuchatel where more than 50 specimens were found. In the course of the working out of the leech material of the Hungarian Natural History Museum, and with reference to the Carpathian Basin, I can give the following new data concerning the distribution and ecology of T. Bykoivskii Gedr. (fig. 1.) I. The High Fatra. 1. Körmöcbánya. 24 May 1933, leg. D u d i c h. An adult specimen found under stones around the „Mayerhof" lake. 2. Körmöcbánya. 25 May 1933, leg. D u d i c h. Six dead specimens in a wooden trough serving for the drinking of cattle, fed bv a spring on the „Rennwiese" (1007—1027 m. a. s. 1.) on the slopes of the Kremnizer-Stoss (= Kremniczky Stit). The specimens, due to alterations occurred after death, are wholly cylindrical, of a Lumbricide aspect, with but traces of annulation here and there. I was unable to identify the animals with any species. In the past year, when visiting professor Pawlowski, he was kind enough to examine also these specimens and established the fact that they are deteriorated specimens of T. Bykowskii Gedr. II. The Borló-Gyil Range. 3. Kerecke. 1 August 1940, leg. Balogh. Four specimens under stones in a seeping outlet of water on the northeastern slopes of the Buzsora (1086 m). 4. Gyilalja. 9 August 1940, leg. Balogh. An adult and a juvenile specimen in a watery territory fed by water springing from under rocks on the southern side of the Buzsora. 5. Gyilalja. 11 July 1939, leg. author. An adult specimen under a stone on the shore of the Szinyanka brook. III. The Maros valley between the Görgény and Kelemen Ranges. 6. Ratosnya. 30 Sept. 1935, leg. É h i k. I have no particular data for the collecting locality. One adult specimen. 7. Ratosnya. 2 July 1942, leg. É h i k. A specimen from the mud on the shore of the river Ratosnya. 8. Ratosnya. 2 July 1942, leg. É h i k. Twelve specimens, all adults with the ecxeption of two, among wet pebbles near the Ratosnya river. 9. Ratosnya. 3 August 1942, leg. É h i k.
