1931: jss Reichert, Robert - Zeller, Tibor - Koch, Sándor: Ásványhatározó [Handbook of mineral identification] (Budapest). A popular guide to mineral identifica­tion, appended with an overview of the mineral localities of Hungary, includ­ing the territories annexed by the surrounding countries after Worlds War I. 1933: (D The last Regional Meeting of Hungarian Physicians and Naturalists (MOTV). 1936: Ü A new series of Földtani Értesítő, a popular geological periodical, is released (published until 1948). 1939: gffij Within the Natural History Museum of the Hungarian National Museum (MNM) the Department of Mineralogy and Palaeontology is divided into the Dept. of Mineralogy and Petrology and the Dept. of Geology and Palaeontol­ogy. 1940: £3 The Ferenc József University is transferred from Szeged back to Kolozsvár*, the Department of Mineralogy and Geology is simultaneously divided into the Dept. of Mineralogy and Petrology and the Dept. of Geology. •=> 1945 1940: At the newly established Horthy Miklós University of Szeged the Institute of Mineralogy and Petrology is founded (its first professor is Sándor Koch). <=> 1967 1940: ® New name for the Section of Chemistry and Mineralogy of the Royal Hun­garian Natural Science Association (KMTT): Section of Chemistry. 1942: JSS Mauritz, Béla - Vendl, Aladár: Ásványtan I-II [Mineralogy I—II] (Budapest). University textbook. 1943: Ü The first issue of Acta Mineralogica-Petrographica (Szeged), periodical of the Institute of Mineralogy and Petrology of the Horthy Miklós University of Szeged is published. 1943/44: jf The last issues of Matematikai és Természettudományi Közlemények and Matematikai és Természettudományi Értesítő (periodicals of Section III of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, MTA) are published. 1944: JSS Náray-Szabó, István: Kristálykémia [Crystal chemistry] (Budapest). 1945: £3 The Ferenc József University stays this time in Kolozsvár* and is called Bolyai University, retaining the Hungarian language of education until 1959, when it is united with the Romanian Babes University. 1946: C3 The teaching of mineralogy as an independent subject in the primary and secondary education is ceased. 1949: tO In Veszprém, at the Faculty of Industrial Chemistry of the Technical Univer­sity of Budapest (from 1951 on Veszprém University of Chemical Engineer­ing) the Department of Mineralogy is founded (its first professor is Ernő Nemecz). O 1997 1949: (D At the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA), earth sciences (including mineralogy) are transferred to the competence of the Section of Technical Sciences. 1 ^ 1965 1949: G9 From the relevant parts of the Faculty of Mining, Metallurgy and Forestry (then in Sopron) of the Technical University of Budapest the Technical Uni­versity for Heavy Industry is formed in Miskolc. The Department of Mineral­ogy and Geology moves to Miskolc in 1949, while the Department of Geology and Mineral Deposits moves there only in 1959.
