SUMMARY This collection is the result of a collecting job conducted by a group of studentresearcher attending secondary school. Thisstudy comprehends 42 studies of 53 students on excellent individuals and events of native land, birthplace, the nation. These first studes are reviewing the happenings, events of the history of their local area. This is their first study however it may be the last one because it is hard to beleive that any of them become historian. The authors of this work are trademen, technicans, engineers, teachers and clerks from allwalks of life. These studies were methodically classified: I. City history ­Settlement-history, II. Youth and labour movement, .III. Economical history, IV. Cultural history, V. Literature history, VI. Profession history. In section called "City history and Settlement-history" the authors are dealing with the renowned cellars of Avas, The history of Palace Hotel of Lillafüred, the development of the Bükk' s tourist pathes, the history of famous Korona-Hotel as well as with the Slovakian settlements in Görömböly, the colonies of Greek immigrants, the history of canalisation of Sa jo river, the history of private-house building. The collection is the most ample in the field of youth and labour - movement. In this section the outstanding individuals of labour­movement of the city are reminded of the memory of city-dwellers namely; Labour-Lord Lieutenants Mrs Mihály Berki, Mr István Oszip, Mr József Csacsovszky as well as Such labour-movement leader as Mr Zsigmond Grosz­man, Mr György Krausz, Mr Jenő Gobbi, Mr Géza Malasits or Mr Ferenc Sze­der. We listed some interesting studies here e.g. works dealing with history of youth and woman movement. As for "Fconcmical-history" we considered three studies to involve into the collection: two studies on agriculture cooperatives and a study reviewing the farming of a land-owner. As for "Cultural history" we introduce the history of such cultural associations as the Sebestyén and Földessy which represent the golden­age of theatre of Miskolc, and the Bányamécs Choir and self-euducating group which achiered outstanding achierements , the Balogh line who are famous for peopleeducation as well as the activity of Mr György Csorba
