result on nation-wide-level (57,03%). The National Peasants’ Party got 5,17%, the Bourgeois-Democratic Party 0,92%, The Hungarian Communist Party 7,25%, while the Social-democratic Party got 11,53% in County Zala. This way County Zala was represented in the national assembly by 12 ISP, 1-1 HCP and SDP representatives.

The results of the election can be explained commonly by social, economic, cultural, religious and settlement factors. In the case of the local agricultural society these circumstances were favourable to a policy that supported their interest from a catholic and conservative side. Examining the causes of difference between the individual settlements and the county average within County Zala, we can remark that it was caused by the development of the party-body, the religious differences, the structure of occupation and the size of the settlement, as well as by the breakdown by sex party-preference of female and male electors.
