Dominkovits Péter: Birtoklástörténet - társadalomtörténet. A petőházi Zeke család Zala megyei birtokai
Through his wife, named Judit, the daughter of György Bezerédy, sub-prefect of County Sopron, the Zeke family attained properties in County Zala. The next generation, namely István (II) Zeke’s marriage (Ányos of Fájsz, Szalay of Nemesapáti family relations) contributed to the enlargement of properties in Counties Zala and Vas. Through the above mentioned marriages the Zeke family was no more a county small-holder but they advanced to the medium landowner class of a larger area, of West-Transdanubia (Counties Sopron, Vas and Zala). The study contributes on one hand to the social history of the „local” nobility of West-Transdanubia, at the turn of the 17-18th century, through a brief account about the Zeke family. On the other hand, the study attempts to draw a picture of the possession-line of the Zeke family’s hereditary, mortgage and succession properties in County Zala (Alsóhahót, Ederics, Kaszaháuza, Kis- and Nagygörbő, Kökényesmindszent, Misefa etc.) based on the numerous documents preserved in the family-archive. 120
