August 21, 1963 William Penn PAGE 7 Picnic and Commemoration The July 4 picnic of Branch 129, Columbus, Ohio, held at Schultz Park, Columbus, was special this year in that it commemorated the 75th Anni­versary of the former Rákóczi Aid Association. Plaques for faithful service and outstanding work were presented to former Rákóczi leaders: Messrs. Magyary, J. Pataki, F. László, and A. Santo. Mr. Santo was not present when pictures were taken. Scholastic Excellence Gerald Louis Louis Wayne Shurman is the son of Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Shurman, 316-15th St. N. W., and is a mem­ber of Branch 91, Massillon, Ohio. The young man graduated re­cently from Ohio State University and was awarded a bachelor of in­dustrial engineering degree and a state degree in mechanical en­gineering. He also received a Gold Key award for his work as technical staff writer for the Ohio State Engineer magazine. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the American Institute of Industrial Engineers and Physi­cists of America, and is affiliated with the local Business and Profes­sional Club. He will- spend a week touring che­mical and atomic plants in Colorado and will return to Ohio State Uni­versity for graduate work. A brother, Gerald, also attends the university and is enrolled in the College of Business Administration. Mr. and Mrs. J. Shulok of Massil­lon, long-time members of the Wil­liam Penn, are the grandparents of the Shurman brothers. More than one million persons in the United States are suffering from some stage of rheumatic fever. It is the turbulence of the earth’s atmosphere which makes the stars appear to twinkle.
