Thirty-five members were present. Secretary Alex Sabo read the minutes and gave the treasurer’s report. This being approved, Sigismund Molnár was then appointed to preside over the election. Frank Dudash, Sr. was re-elected for his second term as ^President; Mrs. Mary Dopriak Vice-President second term; Alex Sabo Secretary second term; Michael Duray auditor sewnd term; and Joseph Madarasz, Jr., Stephen Petruska, Jr. was appointed sick visitor. The members voiced their opinion that Mr. Petluska, being Branch Manager, when visiting homes in collection of dues could fullfill this service more appropriately than anyone else. After Mr. Molnár administered the oath to the elected officers, President Dudiaph urged that more members should attend the monthly meetings. It is the custom of Branch 8-V every year after election to serve refreshments to its members. Homemade kolbász and sauerkraut were served by Mrs. Frank Dudash, Sr. and her daughter. The Branch 8-V Bowling League Welcomes five new members to its fold, bringing the total to thirty: Paul Martin, Joseph Hegedűs, Francis Silica, Mary Jane Mateljan and Frances Sorjak. The League hopes that out of these thirty members at least five teams will be present at the National Tournament in Philadelphia. * * * * L Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Boysza of 1528 Linwood Avenue announce the engagement of their daughter. Anna Marie, to Julius Grego, son cf Mrs. Margaret Zsoka of 317 Sixth Avenue. Cambria City. Misfl Boysza, graduate of Johnstown High School class of ’57, is employed by the Sanitary Dairy Company. Her fiance attended school in Hungary and is employed by the Hello, and we hope that the little old Man with the big white beard was good to you. He was just wonderful and most generous to us. We here in SUNNY CALIFORNA had a very nice Christmas Day, no snow, cold, or raiu — just a lot of SUNSHINE 1957 Imre Gyorvari Mihály Szabó Steve Haluska Bela Boyer Kalman Barna John Balint Michael Kosztin To onr officers of the past year we wish to extend our sincere thanks for a job well dáné. They have given much of their time, work and effort. To you gentlemen we say, “Thank you,” again. To our new officers we extend congratulations and our best wishes for a successful new year. We also wish, tci pledge our wholehearted support in all their undertakings in the year 1958. Our sincere sympathies to the family of our Vice-President for 1957, our beloved Michael Szabó, who (and a little smog too). The annual election for branch officers was held on December 15tli at the Magyar Home. Below I have listed the names and the offices of the branch for 1957 and the new for 1958; 1958 Steve Haluska John Balint Michael Kosztin Paul Papp Kalman Bama Denes Kocs Andrew Szladics passed away on Christmas Eve. Mr. Szabó was a very active member 'and a hard worker of Branch 525-V. Branch 525-V held its first annual Christmas Party for the children and their parents on December 22nd. The party began with the serving of ice cream and ctokies for the children and coffee and cookies for the grownups. We then joined in some fine group singing, at which time we were all surprised by the arrival of one Mr. Santa Claus from the North Pole.. Mr. Claus took time out from his busy schedule to talk to all the President Vice-President Recording-Secretary Comptroller Auditor Auditor Auditor Left to right: The Tucci girls, Patricia and Martha children individually. The secrets that passed between the children and Mr. Claus were not made known to your reporter. But there were a great deal of happy faces after talking to old Sanata. All the children received very nice gifts and the promise that he, Santa Claus, would be visiting them f. n Christmas Eve. The winners of the door prizes were... Bobby Fitzgerald, age 3% years of 15612 Crossbrook Ave., Lawndale; Cathy Ann Suling. age 7 years of 1644 19th St.. Manhattan Meach; Dennis Gilfoy, age 15 years of 155 S. Kingsly Dr., Los Angeles. Congratulations to cur young friends. We hope all our friends and neighbors everywhere had a Very Merry Christmas and that ylour New Year will be a happy and prosperous one. NOTICE: The future meetings of the branch beginning in January, will be held the second Friday of every month at the West Coast District office, located at 8721 So. Western .Ave. .The .meetings .will begin promptly at 8:00 P. M. We hope to see as many of our members in attendance as possible. Let’s start the New Year off right and give our full support to OUR Branch Officers. We want to make the plans for the year and, in order to make it successful, we need YOUR support at the meeting. On Saturday afternoon, December 14, 1957, Branch 13-V, Trenton, New Jersey, was host to more than 400 children and adults at the Annua! Christmas Party held at St. Stephen Parish Center, Genesee and Hudson Corner. % Lavish entertainment was given by the entire class of the Tucci Dancing School under the direction of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Tucci. Juvenile members and guests received gifts and were served ice cream, cookies and soda. Among the youngsters were Hungarian refugee children recently arrived from Jugoslavia. The success of the Annual Christ- SANTA WITH HIS CREW’ mas Party was outstanding and children and adults alike enjoyed the festivities immensely.
