October 17, 1956 William Penn PAC4E 9 Branch 278-V, Omaha, Nebraska, Reports Its Nuptials HUG—VÁMOSI The marriage of La Vetta Jean Hug to James Martin Vámosi took place at the St. Philip Neri Catholic Church on Saturday, August 4, 195C. The double ring ceremony was performed at 10 A. M. by the Rev. Patrick Burke. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest J. Hug, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph M. Vámosi of Omaha, Nebraska. Judith Ann Hughes was the maid of honor and Patricia Ann O’Donnell was the bride’s attendant. Both are her cousins. Steven Maji. cousin of the bridegroom, was the best man. Ushers were Donald Hug, brother of the bride, and Charles Johnson and Paul Fabiat. Richard Krebs and Kathleen Krebs, nephew and niece of the bridegroom, were ring bearer and flower girl. James Maji, cousin of the bridegroom, was altar boy at the ceremony. The reception took place at -the Birchwood Club immediately after the ceremony. Luncheon was served to all the guests and Mr. Edgar M. Hughes cut the wedding cake. Corinne Fitch was in care of the guest book. Mrs. Robert Catherwood and Patricia Kish displayed the wedding gifts. Out of town guests included the bridegroom’s brother, U. S. Marine Captain Joseph S. Vámosi and wife and daughters Sandra Kay and Linda Lou from Anaheim, California; also the bridegroom’s uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer E. Olson who came from Locona, Iowa. The couple left on a two week honeymoon to the Ozarks. They are having built a new home in Northridge Hills north of Florence. The bridegroom and all those related to him in the wedding party are members of Branch 278-V, Omaha, Nebraska. HOODY—OLSEN Frances Mary Hoody, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George J. Hoody, Sr. was married to Jerome E. Olsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. 0. Olsen of Chicago, Illinois, at services held in the Holy Cross Church on Saturday, August 25, 1956. Maid of honor was Carol Gibbs. Bridesmaids were Joan Bezousek, Marilyn Kalkowski, Susan Olsen of Chicago, sister of the bridegroom, and Nancy McKinney, also of Chicago. Best man was Carol Muth of Chicago. Ushers were Daniel Dervin, Richard Rock, Ray Reidl, George Koley and Jack Chapuran. A reception followed in the ball room of the Castle Hotel. However, better late than never, and so here are shown the veteran Branch 130-V, East Chicago, Indiana officer and his wife about to cut their 50th wedding anniversary cake. Pennsylvania Insurance Commissioner Candidate for Auditor General Office FRANCIS R. SMITH Francis R. Smith, Insurance Commissioner of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, is the Democratic candidate for the state-wide office of Auditor General at the coming November 6 election. Mr. Smith has been a strong champion of the interests of Pennsylvania Fraternals. His active support of Senate Bill No. 426, amending Section 15 of The Pennsylvania Fraternal Code, resulted in removing a statutory jacket from Pennsylvania Fraternals and considerably easing their burdens. He is a family man, the father of seven children. He holds a law degree and his public service has been as United States Congressman, Collector of Internal Revenue and Insurance Commissioner. Francis R. Smith’s character and governmental experience, coupled with his fine record, qualify him for the office of Auditor General of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
