Branch News Branch 9 Hazleton, PA by Sara McKinsey-Barra Happy New Year to all Branch 9 members! May the new year hold much hope and promise of good things. Happy Valentine's Day, also. Spend it with the ones you love. The branch held a Christmas party at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Pine Grove, Pa., on Dec. 16. Branch members Lilly and Julia Barra had a great time putting together the Christmas stockings that were passed out to those in attendance. Many thanks to William Penn Association for supplying the funds and gifts that made it all possible. If you do any volunteer work or help out in the community in any way, please let me know so that I can include it in a future article. A picture would be great, too! Happy Valentine's Day! May you, your family and friends have a wonderful celebration. I decided to take it easy on our readers this month and limit my thoughts and words for the Branch 14 article. Yes, it is a slow time for news from Cleveland, but I expect it to pick up as events are being scheduled for 2019. So, best wishes for a great 2019. Stay healthy and enjoy the good fortune that may come your way. Your continued donations and support of the William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundation is very important and much needed, as it provides the funds distributed to our student members for their college studies. If you were a recipient of a WPA scholarship, please support education and our students by donating to the scholarship fund. As always, please remember to keep in touch with someone you haven't seen or talked with in a long time. Don't let the opportunity pass you by. Pick up the phone and/or plan a visit.
