Branch News Branch 525 members Hailee and Ashlyn Tremblay (above, left) were among the children who enjoyed a visit from Santa (above, right) during the branch's annual family Christmas party. Union. For many years, the crown was held in Fort Knox, Ky. The decision to return the crown was seen as a proof of friendship between the two nations and an encouragement to the Hungarian people. Today, the Holy Crown can be viewed in the Parliament building in Budapest. A replica of the crown can be seen at the Jimmy Carter Library and Museum in Atlanta, Ga. It has been a brutally cold winter. Be careful in the snow and ice, allow extra time to travel wherever you go, shovel snow responsibly and remember to keep your pets warm. Studies indicate that dogs should not be left outside more than 30 minutes in weather under 32° or over 90°. Speedy recovery to Barbara House. Get well to those affected this winter with the flu. Give them a hug and let them know how important they are to you. February is a very important month for William Penn Association. On Feb. 21, WPA will celebrate the 132nd anniversary of its founding. Congratulations to the Association and to all the past and present members who have made it possible for the Association to continue to provide its members with the best possible insurance plans and annuity rates and be able to offer all the different fraternal activities over the years. Our Board of Directors and National Officers do their best managing the Association, keeping our members in mind when making any decision whether it be financial or fraternal. William Penn Life offers information about events scheduled for the year 2018. Please try to attend as many of them as you can, for only with your support can the Association continue to provide its members with the best possible fraternal service. If your son or daughter—or even you—will be attending an institution of higher learning in the fall of 2018, remember to check the scholarship eligibility rules to obtain a scholarship. Every little bit of money available to help with your education is well worth the effort to apply for. The rules and application form are published each month in William Penn Life. We would love to hear from you! Branch 525 Los Angeles, CA by Sarika Gotz California is on fire, and we need special prayers that we get rain, soon. So many people have lost their homes, so sad. We need to appreciate what we have because in an instant it could be gone. Branch 525's Christmas party was held Dec. 3 at the Bloomington Hungarian Club. The hall looked beautiful with poinsettias and Christmas trees-red, white, and green, everywhere. The workers in the kitchen were busy cooking stuffed cabbage, kolbász and chicken. It smelled so good! Jonsi Baky played Hungarian and American Christmas carols and music for our dancing and singing. Soon it was time for the jolly 'ol man himself, Santa, with Mrs. Claus, who came with a red sack filled to the top with gifts for the children.
