Maskarinec The final report on our golf outing is in, and it shows our proceeds totalled over $3,400. This couldn't have been achieved without every­one's help. Thank you for making this event such a huge success! We are still trying to find the person who won the Hungarian Gourmet Basket at the WPA Picnic. Please contact me so I can make ar­rangements to deliver your basket. It's a nice value, and there's a lot of goodies in it that I know will please your palate. Our branch, in conjunction with the First Hungar­ian Reformed Church of Homestead, had a baking project in November and will be having one again in December, just before Christmas. Plus, our very own Chef János made his famous Hungarian gulyás in October. We still have some left in our freezer. Please call or email me if you would like some. Price is $6 per quart. Our thanks to all those who helped make our gulyás mak­ing a success. Those in attendance were Branch President John Toth Jr., Branch Vice President Mark S. Our homemade Hungarian kol­bász returns this month. We will be joining forces with the Third Av­enue Calvin Reformed Church and the Hungarian Reformed Church of Homestead to make kolbász just in time for the holidays. Date and price to be determined. To order kolbász, call me at 412-872-5022. Our annual branch Christmas honoring the veterans at the First Hungarian Reformed Church on Nov. 12. Get well wishes go to branch member Janet J. Phillips as she continues to recuperate from spinal surgery, Jim Findlay as he battles cancer and Fred Gabocy who was battling pneumonia. It promises to be a good time. On Thanksgiving, some of our branch members helped out at the 20th Annual Thanksgiving Din­ner held at the Homestead Park United Methodist Church. What a wonderful way for those alone, shut-in or homeless to enjoy a good, home-cooked meal and celebrate the holidays with others in the same circumstances. 'Tis the season to be thankful and what better to show how thankful we are by helping oth­ers. Special thanks to branch mem­bers Devon and Michele Wittpenn, Michael Sarraino and Mark and Lisa Maskarinec for representing the branch and church at the recent re­tirement luncheon for Munhall May­or Raymond Bodnar. Mayor Bodnar held the office for 53 years. We wish him and his wife much happiness and good health as they embark on this next stage of their lives. And we thank branch members Fred Gabocy, Janet Phillips, Vera Recktosh and Mark and Lisa for representing our branch at the Celebration of Life for Rev. Imre A. Bertalan at the Third Avenue Calvin Reformed Church in Beaver Falls on Nov. 11. What a wonderful way to honor the legacy and memory of Rev. Bertalan. Congratulations to Arlene Csornán for pulling together such a wonderful event. To all our veterans, we say thank you for your service to our country. We thank you and we salute you for your efforts.
