On that thought, we also send out our best wishes to all our members having birthdays or anniversaries this month. Several members of Branch 28 helped spruce up the grounds of St. Stephen of Hungary worship site on Saturday, June 3. Jeremiah Schauer is visiting the Ohio area from Florida. He's here to help celebrate his grandfather's 80th birthday and to attend the graduation parties of two of his cousins. Remember: Sunday, Aug. 6, is Magyar Nap (Hungarian Day), sponsored by the Youngstown American Hungarian Federation, at the Aut Mori Grotto Hall on Belle Vista Avenue from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Advance reservations for the chicken paprikash dinner will be taken until July 31. Other food, pastries, beverages and music will be available that day as well. Best of luck to Michele Dye, who is relocating to Royse City, Texas. The 53rd Carousel Ball hosted by the American Hungarian Foundation was held May 6. The Distinguished Service Award was presented to Rev. Imre Bertalan and the Bethlen Communities in recognition of their dedication and commitment to serving others. A well-deserved award. Welcome home to Bettyann Nagy, who recently returned from a hiking trip in Yellowstone National Park. Mark Peyko, local Hungarian publisher of the Metro Monthly, was the guest speaker at the "Memories of a Lifetime" series held in conjunction with the William Holmes McGuffey Historical Society. Congratulations to Betty Anzevino and Karen Jarosz, aunt and cousin of Branch 28 member John Morey, who won their local newpaper's Mother's Day photo contest. Their photo was taken on a trip to visit Jane's Carousel, which originally was erected in Idora Park in Youngstown but now is found in Brooklyn Bridge Park in New York. I had the pleasure of volunteering at the WPA information booth at the annual Hungarian Festival in New Brunswick, N.J. on Saturday June 3. For a bit more on the festival, please see "In the Community" on page 8 of this issue. We're looking forward to having some fun in the sun at the WPA Golf Tournament & Scholarship Days. Remember to come on Friday to attend the scholarship meeting and golfers reception. Monte Carlo Night will be held on Friday as well, with all proceeds benefiting our scholarship foundation. Specially happy 60th wedding anniversary wishes to Bill and Dorothy Skebo. Get well wishes to all those not feeling up to par, especially Alice Nagy, Evelyn Horvath and Veronica Brown.
