Many of these activities are over a hundred years old. Some plays and poems were unique to specific regions, but due to the advancement in technology, most are now available on a nationwide basis. Within Hungary a resurgence of interest in culture, music and history have made these simple forms of childhood entertainment popular once again. Several schools now offer classes specifically dedicated to the study of the music and games of Hungary. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the passing of Zoltán Kodály. Special educational programs will take place throughout Magyarország that highlight his archiving of music for children. This month, the wordsearch highlights a few of the traditional games that children play in Hungary. There are 16 clues to this puzzle. Many of these songs and lullabies can be found on Facebook and other internet sites being performed in a casual setting. Good luck, and see you next month. Boldog Húsvét 2017! Don’t forget to sprinkle that special person with perfumed water on Easter Monday.
