Branch News Recently volunteering at Sonshine Community Ministries in McKeesport, Pa., were (l-r) Taylor Dorman, Branch 226 Treasurer Leslie Petras, Branch 226 Auditor Wayne Nelson, Branch 226 Secretary Gerry Nelson, Branch 226 President Malvene Heyz and Wendy Dorman. Branch 226 McKeesport, PA participate in WPA and community activities through food bank dona­tions, the Easter basket program, and the sponsorship of bowling lanes and a local softball team. We are blessed that we can make a dif­ference in our community and hope to do so for the long foreseeable future. The next Branch 132 meeting will be held on June 6 at the Martin's Supermarket Deli (first floor) on Ireland Road at 6:00 p.m. Branch 189 Alliance, OH by Teresa Phillips Greetings from Branch 189 in Alli­ance, Ohio. We dedicate this article to a very special lady: Sue (Suzann) Smith. Sue recently lost her heroic battle with cancer. She brought a warm ray of sunshine to whoever she met. If she touched your life in any way, you were a lucky person. Sue will be forever missed by all. May she rest in peace. Our condolences also go out to all members and their families who have lost loved ones. The club held a steak/ fish fry on March 17 followed by a St. Patrick's Day party. Music was provided by DJ Mike. Prizes were awarded for the best costumes. Happy belated birthday wishes for March go out to our members and friends, including Don Stanley, Deb Saeger, Janet Syme, John Criss, Kim Craig, Mike Dallas, Chuck Mason, Kevin Schafer, Joe DeGira­­lamo, Rick Rhome, Jared Reifsnyder, Dorothy Whitney, Dan Hines and Randy Alpago. Anniversary wishes also go out to everyone celebrating their day. With Easter right around the corner, we are working on baskets which will be delivered to the el­derly. These branch officers and friends volun­teered at the Sonshine Community Ministries food pantry in McKees­port. Our branch was able to donate funds to this worthy group under WPA's Join Hands Against Hunger campaign. Sonshine Community Ministries is a not-for-profit 501c3 faith-based ministry run and sup­ported by volunteers and commu­nity partners. On Saturday, May 13, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the Free Hungar­ian Reformed Church of McKeesport and their neighbor, Holy Family Polish Catholic Church, will host a spring flea market, rain or shine. The William Penn Association Magyar Folk Dancers are prepar­ing for another summer season of performances around the Pittsburgh area.
