We hope you are all having a great spring and enjoying some warm weather with friends and family. What's also nice about this time of year is getting together with family to enjoy holidays like Easter or Passover. So, this month, we have a craft to share with people of all ages: finger puppets. First, start by picking your favorite story. Then, create a finger puppet for each of the characters in the story. Once you've made all the puppets, you can present a puppet performance for everybody in your own home! What You Need: • Construction paper (or thick paper) • Wobbly eyes (some are now sold as stickers so you don't have to glue them!) • A black marker • A dishwashing glove • Scissors • Craft glue • Glitter, buttons, feathers, pipe cleaners, wool and other items to finish the look of each puppet What You Do: • With help from an adult, cut the fingers off the glove at the knuckle to create the base for your puppet. • Cut shapes out of paper for noses and mouths & attach to the glove fingers; attach the wobbly eyes. • Glue on other features, such as hair, feathers, or arms (the pipe cleaners) • Use the marker to draw on ears or feet if your character needs them. You can make a finger puppet for just about any story or make one to look like your pet. Don't forget to take photos and tag #WPALife! 18 0 April 2017 0 WILLIAM PENN LIFE
