MINUTES OF THE 38TH GENERAL CONVENTION 4. National Anthem and Hungarian Himnusz. The assembly sang the National Anthem and Hungarian Himnusz. 5. Invocation. Rev. John P. McKinsey, Jr. offered the invocation. 6. Chair of Credentials Committee / Report Submitted. Chair of the Convention House called upon Jerry A. Hauser, Chair of the Credentials Committee, for the Credentials Committee Report. The William Penn Association Board of Directors, in compliance with Article 2, Section 204, Point 1, of the WPA By-Laws, unanimously approved the following as members of the Credentials Committee. Chair Hauser introduced the members of the Credentials Committee: Jerry A. Hauser, Chair Katherine E. Novak, Vice Chair James D. Balias Dennis A. Chobody Albert Frate Nickolas M. Kotik Joyce E. Nicholson Paul J. Varga The Credentials Committee met on Saturday, October 10,2015, at 7:00 P.M. in Board Room 3 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Meadow Lands, Washington, PA. We, the appointed Credentials Committee, hereby certify that the Chairmen of twenty-eight (28) Delegate Districts submitted reports of election of delegates to National Vice President/Secretary Jerry A. Hauser. A total of 73 delegates were elected and certified by National Vice President/Secretary Jerry A. Hauser on July 23,2015, with names appearing in the Septeml>er 2015 issue of William Penn Life. On September 17,2015, National Vice President/ Secretary Jerry A. Hauser was informed by e-mail that Geraldine A. Huthansel of Delegate District No. 23 would not be able to attend WPA's 38th General Convention. National Vice President/Secretary Hauser certified First Alternate Kristin M. Nezolosky as Delegate representing Delegate District No. 23 for WPA's 38th General Convention. A special Board meeting was held on September 30, 2015, via conference call. The Board of Directors declared that two vacancies exist on the Board and followed with the election of Debra A. Lewis and Joyce E. Nicholson as new Directors. Previously, both individuals were certified as delegates to the convention. However, both individuals will now serve as ex-officio delegates and their delegate position surrendered. Due to this action, National Vice President/Secretary Hauser certified First Alternates Margaret M. Leonardo of District #7 and Emily E. Nicholson of District #8 as delegates to WPA's 38th General Convention. During the meeting of the Credentials Committee, a question arose concerning the eligibility of several elected delegates due to the current status of their life or annuity certificates. After further examination of current Association records, it was determined that all those delegates in question are in good standing and, therefore, eligible to serve. From the signed index cards presented at the registration desk, the Committee hereby certifies that seventythree (73) elected delegates and thirteen (13) ex-officio delegates, for a grand total of eighty-six (86) delegates, have registered for the 38th General Convention of the William Penn Association. MOVED BY DENNIS A. CHOBODY, SECONDED BY ANNE MARIE SCHMIDT AND THE DELEGATES OF THE CONVENTION ACCEPTED THE REPORT OF THE CREDENTIALS COMMITTEE. 7. Roll Call. Secretary of the Convention Dora S. McKinsey called the roll. Secretary McKinsey reported that a quorum was present for the 38th General Convention. 8. Delegates / Sworn In. Ralph F. Manning, Esq., swears in the Delegates representing William Penn Association's 38th General Convention. 9. Agenda/Approval. MOVED BY JAMES D. BALLAS, SECONDED BY JAMES W. ROBERTSON AND THE DELEGATES APPROVED THE AGENDA WITH THE PROVISO THAT ANY MATTER APPROPRIATE TO THE CONVENTION BE ADDED. 10. National President George S. Charles, Jr. / Remarks. National President George S. Charles, Jr. extended warm greetings and remarks to the Convention. 11. Diane M. Torma, National Vice President/Treasurer / Financial Report. National Vice President/Treasurer Diane M. Torma presented the financial report on William Penn Association covering the last four (4) years. 12. Chair of Resolutions Committee / Report Submitted. Chair of the Convention House called upon Anne Marie Schmidt, Chair of the Resolutions Committee, for the presentation of the Resolutions. Chair Schmidt introduced the members of the Resolutions Committee: Anne Marie Schmidt, Chair James W. Robertson, Vice Chair Kathy M. Chobody Debra A. Lewis Mark C. Schmidt Diane M. Walker 13. Convention Honorarium Resolution/ Adopted. THE 38TH GENERAL CONVENTION HEREBY RESOLVES THAT REGARDLESS OF THE NUMBER OF DAYS THE GENERAL CONVENTION SHALL BE IN SESSION, THE HONORARIUM FOR EACH OF THE ELECTED DELEGATES AND EX-OFFICIO DELEGATES PRESENT AT THE CONVENTION SHALL BE ESTABLISHED AT $2,500.00.
