Branch News WPA National Director Joyce Nicholson (left) presents a prize basket donated by WPA Branches 40 and 349 to Ihre Wilson, a volunteer with the Children's Bereavement Foundation. The basket was part of the Foundation's recent Chinese auction. visiting family in Ohio and New Jersey. Congratulations to Noah Szabó on receiving the Eagle Scout award. Thanks to Maria Schauer for the nice article and keeping us informed about Hungarian history. Also, what a great article by Mark Schmidt. Sometimes, it takes a non-Hungarian to make us more aware of our Hungarian pride. We have some stars among us: David Szabó and his wife Gail appear in a television commercial for a local restaurant. What a professional job the Convention committee and Home Office did once again in preparing for another successful WPA General Convention. The delegates were given many opportunities to learn about our wonderful Association throughout the sessions and to experience fraternalism with each other. We commend the leadership of the last four years for helping WPA grow in strength and membership. We wish the incoming Board of Directors continued success and luck with all they do to preserve and promote WPA. It's good to see upcoming generations becoming more involved and carrying WPA into the future. Remember, if you find yourself near the University of Pittsburgh this December, stop by the Nationality Classrooms. They will be decorated with traditional ethnic holiday trimmings. Best wishes to all those not feeling up to par, especially Leslie Polgar, Mary Foor, Joan Mauerman, Michelle Toth, Robert Palotsee and Nancy Breznai. We extend our deepest sympathy to the family of National Director Roger G. Nagy. Roger was a great example of WPA's fraternal spirit. He was a true gentleman who will be missed by many. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all who recently have experienced the loss of a loved one. If you have any news you'd like to share, please let me know so I can pass it along to our readers. For your questions about life insurance and annuities, please call either Alan at 330-482-9994 or me at 330-746-7704. Wishing everyone a blessed Thanksgiving. Branch 40 Martins Ferry, OH Branch 349 Weirton, WV by Joyce Nicholson Hello from the WPA branches in Martins Ferry, Ohio, and Weirton, W.Va. As part of our branches' continuing "Join Hands" fraternal projects, we recently participated in another charitable endeavor. In September, our branches donated a gift basket for a Chinese auction and paddle auction to help raise funds for the Children's Bereavement Foundation. Ilore Wilson, a volunteer for the foundation, accepted the basket with many thanks. The Children's Bereavement Foundation is dedicated to helping bereaved parents through the loss of a child. The Foundation believes that every angel has the right to be honored and have his/her life celebrated by the wishes of the family. You can learn more about the Children's Bereavement Foundation, by visiting their website at www. childrensbereavementfoundation.org. Keep in mind that our branch Christmas party is slated this year for Saturday, Dec. 19, at King's Restaurant, located at the intersection of Routes 22 and 43 in Wintersville, beginning at 9:00 a.m. You'll be able to have breakfast with Santa and enjoy food, fun and fellowship with your fellow WPA members and children. All of our branch members are welcome to attend this open house "Breakfast with Santa." So, stop by while you're out Christmas shopping, say hello, have some fun and maybe win prizes! All branch children attending will receive a treat bag. We would like to extend our sympathy and prayers to the family of National Director Roger G. Nagy. He will be missed. Cool, crisp weather is upon us again, and Thanksgiving will soon be here. Take the time to enjoy the holiday and praise God for all that he has given. For additional information about branch activities, or to let us know about events going on in your family, please call Joyce Nicholson at 740-264-6238. 22 0 November 2015 ° William Penn Life
