Agents' Corner Douglas G. Jones La Mesa, CA 619-266-7122 WPA Agent since 2005 Doug has been in the insurance and financial field since 1970. He began his career as a banker with Security I st National in Los Angeles, before entering the insurance field with American National life. After working for a time as a life and health representative for a property and casualty agency, he became a life brokerage supervisor with INA life. He started his own brokerage life insurance agency in San Diego in 1974. He went on to cofound three national brokerage agencies in the field of life and health insurance. Doug holds numerous professional degrees, including Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Char­tered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Registered Health Underwriter (RHU), Long Term Care Professional (LTCP) and Fraternal Insurance Counsellor (FIC). He was president of the CLU/ ChFC Chapter in San Diego from 1983 to 1985 and founding presi­dent of the San Diego Chapter of the National Association of Health Underwriters in 1986. Since the mid-1990’s, Doug has concentrated on securities and serving the financial needs of seniors and small business owners. Holding a securities license since 1971, he formed his own registered investment advisory firm—Your Coach For Financial Harmony, LLC—in February 2010. He says, while young and antsy, he quit high school after his junior year and joined the Marines. After four years, he left the Marines and worked his way through college, spending his summers training Naval recruits at Treasure Island, Calif., as a Navy drill instructor. He gradu­ated from the University of Arizona in 1966. He believes fraternal benefit societies often of­fer the best of insurance products and services to their members and is proud to represent William Penn Association.
