For Starters Join Hands Day offers branches a way to connect with youth, serve community William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundation Recipient Profile Steven Daniel Pillar graduated from Waynesburg College in 2004 with a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice. He is currently serving in the United States Air Force as a senior airman (soon-tobe staff sergeant). He served a tour in Iraq this past year and is currently stationed at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, Kansas, assigned to Security Forces. Steven would like to thank the William Penn Association for the scholarship grants he received through the William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundation. Those grants helped him attend college and achieve his first stripe in the Air Force upon completion of boot camp. Members who are past recipients of scholarship grants through the William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundation are invited to share their posteducational and professional experiences with us. This is fraternalism's day, a day when fraternal benefit societies and volunteer organizations reach out to people or communities in need, connect generations and develop relationships. Fraternalists "join hands" yearround, because fraternalism is not a one-day-a-year event. However, Join Hands Day provides all fraternalists and non-fratemalists alike with the opportunity to make a difference in their communities through helpful projects that connect youths and adults. The William Penn Association encourages all its members and branches to begin planning their involvement in this year's Join Hands Day.
