Branch 44 Akron, OH by Elizabeth Darago The family holiday party was a great success! Ninety-seven members attended the holiday brunch served at the Golden Corral on Dec. 8. Our thanks go to Jean Nasvadi for helping wrap all the gifts for the young members and for purchasing some of the raffle table prizes. Among the gifts for the young ones were stuffed animals, racing car sets, I-Pod accessories, dolls, bongo drums, play guitars and other really exciting items. Every adult and juvenile member received a goodie bag filled with items from the Home Office. Santa made an appearance, and the youngsters all promised him that they would be good. Adult members also received a special four-inch poinsettia as a door prize. Two dozen lucky members won gifts from the raffle table. Of course, Alan Szabó was his jolly self and handed out WPA calendars. We also held a business meeting during which our branch officers were reelected to serve another term. We thank the officers for helping to organize the holiday party. During the meeting, we also discussed a possible branch bus trip in the summer for all members. 16 William Penn Life, February 2008 Branch 51 members welcome Santa to their annual Christmas party
