Branch News Branch 8 Johnstown, PA by Dorothy Kedves Times change but traditions live on! We could not have asked for a more beautiful day for our branch bacon roast held Sunday, July 27. We had great fellowship and great food. Young and old enjoyed the Hungarian tradition. Everyone enjoyed chicken paprikas along with the bacon bread. And let's not forget the great desserts. Hungarian music was enjoyed and played by Ernest Kedves. We ended the month by attending the Johnstown Ethnic Fest in historic Cambria City. This section of Johnstown is known for its ethnic churches. Five remain in the area and each participates with its own traditional music and food. The fest was a very good time. We are happy to see that more members are getting involved in our activities. For all your life insurance and annuity needs, please call Alexis Kozak at 814-255-5286. Branch 14 Cleveland, OH by Dawn D. Ward Despite the intermittent showers, the 8th annual WPA Picnic-A Great Fraternal Fest at Penn Scenic View was a tremendous success. The food was great, and the music and dancers were very entertaining. It was wonderful to see so many members from Branch 14 in attendance. Thanks to the many Home Office employees, Board members and branch volunteers for helping make this picnic so enjoyable. Over $10,000 was raised for the scholarship foundation due to the generosity of those who donated gifts for the Chinese raffle and to the many people who purchased tickets. It was fraternalism at its finest. Recently, there was a dedication ceremony at the Hungarian Cultural Branch 8 members of all ages enjoy a traditional bacon roast hosted by the branch July 27.
