Royal smile Nicole Smilak, a member of Branch 352 Coraopolis, Pa., was crowned the 2007 Homecoming Queen of New Brighton (Pa.) High School on Oct. 5. Nicole is secretary of her class and president of both the student council and National Honor Society. She is a member of the marching and concert bands, SADD chapter and Lioness Club and performed in the school’s musical. Torma Branch 296's annual Christmas party will be held on Sunday, Dec. 9, at noon at the Springdale VFW. Election of officers for 2008 will take place on Thursday, Dec. 13, at 7:30 p.m. at King's Restaurant in New Kensington. Special birthday greetings to two very special people: Martha Schuller and Noreen Fritz. Happy birthday to all of our members celebrating their Branch News special day in December. Branch 800 Altoona, PA by Vincent Frank The holiday season is in full swing now and your branch officers wish that you all may have a blessed Christmas and a happy new year. Branch 800 sends a special holiday greeting to branch members who are ill. You can be assured by our prayers that you are not forgotten during this joyous season. The Home Office and your branch are working together to ensure that the needy will receive a ray of hope this holiday season by conducting the Holiday Basket program. Your branch's meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Religious Education Center, 873 - 27th St., Altoona. Please try to attend and have a say in the operation of your branch. One of our members, Myron Yeager, will be celebrating his 88th birthday this December. What is so interesting about this is that Mr. Yeager still faithfully attends branch meetings and enjoys them. Thank you, Myron, for all the input you give in our decision making.
