24th Annual Golf Tournament David Post of Branch 336 Harrisburg, Pa., celebrates after sinking a 30-foot putt during Friday night’s special putting contest. His putt won him $1,000. Marguerite McNelis of Branch 34 Pittsburgh. Joan Mauer man of Branch 590 Cape Coral, Fla., was another big winner that day, claiming the $460 prize in the 50/50 raffle. She generously donated $160 of her winnings to the WPFA Scholarship Foundation. A new addition to the weekend's activities was a special 50-foot putting contest, held during the barbeque. The name of one WPA member was drawn, and that person was given one chance to sink a 50- foot putt on Quicksilver's practice green. The prize? A cool $2,500. National Auditing Committee member Anne Marie Schmidt of Branch 249 Dayton, Ohio, was the lucky contestant. But, unfortunately, she missed the putt. Unfortunately, none of our golfers made a hole-in-one during the tournament. However, Robert Kramer II of Branch 226 McKeesport, Pa., did win $500 for getting his tee shot closest to the pin on hole #8, and Ron Blatt of Branch 89 Homestead, Pa., won $200 for getting his tee shot second closest. A big "Thank You" goes to all those who participated in the weekend's activities. Your presence helped to make it a special event for all of us. The tournament and its related activities raised $12,742 for the WPA's Scholarship Foundation. Of that total, $6,400, was contributed by our hole sponsors (see list on Page 10).
