For Starters WPA dancers enliven festival PITTSBURGH - The William Penn Association Magyar Folk Dancers represented Hungarian folk traditions at Pittsburgh's annual International Children's Festival May 19 by hosting a craft table and performing. Judit Borsay and her daughters, Judit and Noémi, helped over 150 children decorate unique kalocsa hearts. The children used red, silver, and green glitter glue and mirrors to recreate the look of kalocsa hearts on foam hearts. Kalocsa hearts are traditionally made out of a gingerbread-like dough, decorated with bright-colored frosting and small mirrors, and are often personalized. The dance group performed a full set of traditional Hungarian folk dances, songs and children's games for 30 minutes. The set included such traditional favorites as " Az a Szép" and "Jó estét." The group is now preparing for the rest of the performance season which includes two performances at this year's International Village ethnic food festival in McKeesport, Pa., (Aug. 14 and 15 at 6:00 p.m. each day). They also will perform at the WPA Picnic at Penn Scenic View Sept. 15.
