Branch News Branch 28 Youngstown, OH by Kathy Novak Looks like the Home Office and Board of Directors have succeeded with coming up with another great new idea, as the bowling barbeque was quite a successful event. The attendance and fratemalism were wonderful, and it all benefited the Scholarship Foundation. Congratulations on a wonderful job., .and to all the lucky winners, as well. The Chinese auction went very well, being held at the Saturday event. Two baskets found themselves traveling to Y-town as Branch President Steve Novak and Sandy Tollas were lucky winners. As always, it was great to visit with our WPA friends. We are looking forward to the next special event: the golf outing in July being held at the Quicksilver Golf Club in Midway, Pa. Congratulations to all the 2007 graduates. A whole new chapter in their lives will be beginning. Best of luck to all of them. Remember to mark your calendars for the annual Magyar Nap (Hungarian Day), sponsored by the Youngstown American Hungarian Federation, to be held on Sunday, Aug. 12 from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Youngstown American Hungarian House, 2219 Donald Ave. Plenty of food and music will be available. Also, just a reminder to make your reservations for the bus trip to the WPA Picnic-A Great Fraternal Fest. This fantastic event will be held Saturday, Sept. 15. Our bus will leave Youngstown around 8:30 a.m. and return around 10:00 p.m. that evening. Call Steve Novak at (330) 746-7704 for more details and to reserve your space on the bus. Birthday wishes to everyone celebrating their special day, especially Branch Vice President Frank Schauer, who will celebrate his 70th, and John Kaluczky, who is turning 91. We also congratulate all those celebrating anniversaries, especially: Art and Vera Szőke, who were cruising in the Bahamas for their special day; Ferenc and Maria Goda on 58 wonderful years together; and National Director Frank Radvany and his sweet wife Elsie on 60 years of love and togetherness. We missed you both at the bowling weekend. Special thoughts and prayers are extended to those who have recently lost a loved one. With those thoughts, it is with much sadness that I inform our readers of the passing of Youngstown's beloved Brother Reginald Antal on April 10,2007. Hoping all our dear and wonderful mothers had an extra special day, and wishing special blessings for all our beloved fathers on their special day this month. For your life insurance and annuity needs, please call Kathy at (330) 746-7704 or Alan at (330) 482-9994. Branch 249 Dayton, OH by Anne Marie Schmidt We were saddened by the recent death of one of our longtime members and branch officer, Mike Mayerchak. Whenever a local branch function was held, we could always count on Mike to be there to help and participate. Mike and his wife Betty loved serving the William Penn Association and Branch 249. Our sincere sympathy is extended to their family. They showed through their example the true spirit of fratemalism. They will be truly missed by all. Congratulations to the WPA on another successful bowling tournament. Our bowlers and members had a great time. Congratulations to the Dayton men's team for their first place finish. The barbeque lunch and Chinese auction were huge successe. It was fun seeing 20 William Penn Life, June 2007
