Children visiting the Pittsburgh International Children’s Festival enjoyed coloring the Hungarian designs featured at a booth sponsored by the WPA. WPA promotes fratemalism and Hungarian culture at children’s festival PITTSBURGH -- The 21st Annual Pittsburgh International Children's Festival was held on May 16 to 20 in West Park, located near the Home Office in the North Side of Pittsburgh. The Festival exposed children to different cultures and international activities. The WPA participated in this year's Festival by hosting a booth at which children colored pre-printed outlines of Hungarian embroidery around the edges of placemats. Home Office staff volunteered their time at the booth which was decorated with examples of Hungarian dolls and hand-crafted embroidery items. An estimated 900 children visited our booth, and each took home a placemat and a small gift from the WPA. The Festival gave us the opportunity to support the local community and provided exposure for our Association. Experience a true taste of Hungary.- Learn the Hungarian language.- Enjoy homemade Hungarian food.- Practice Hungarian traditions. Sign up today!
